Description
Glade Run Lutheran Services (Glade Run) is located on 325 acres in rural Zelienople, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1854 by William Passavant as, The Orphan's Home and Farm School, the organization has grown through the years to serve more than 2,400 unduplicated individuals on an annual basis in four different local offices. Glade Run serves at-risk children ages 8 to 21 through residential treatment, group homes, and St. Stephen's Lutheran Academy, our private licensed school. Last year, 398 students were served in educational programs including 188 children in therapeutic classrooms in the Pittsburgh Public School system. In-community, outpatient services are provided to more than 1,800 individuals and families each year from our offices in Butler, Beaver Falls and Pittsburgh.This internship will assist a student in gaining experience within a Non-profit Social Service Agency and complete research on program opportunities within the Pittsburgh area.
Skills / Requirements
RequirementsCandidate must be entering junior or senior year and majoring in the Human Services Field, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, etc. Graduate students are also welcome to apply.
Must have a strong background in computers and previous experience in data collection/analysis within social services field preferred.
Must have proficiencies in computers programs; Microsoft Work, Excel and Access. Must be able to create documents, spreadsheets, and databases and manipulate data. Must maintain high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Must be able to work collaboratively with assigned supervisor and program team.
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to identify with the agency’s Mission Statement and the agency’s Core Values.
