Purchasing Agent for MLP Steel


MLP Steel is looking to hire a Purchasing Agent for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company’s needs for direct and indirect materials as well as outsourced services.  These products and services are to be secured at cost, quality and delivery competitive levels consistent with MLP Steel policy and performance standards.  This position is further responsible for the timely planning, schedule of receipt and inventory control of products and services as assigned.  This is an immediate need for a motivated team player.

Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management with 5 years of prior experience managing inventory and purchasing within an industrial environment.  Applicants must have a strong desire to learn and accept additional responsibilities that may be offered. 

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*        Analyze sales order releases with respect to material requirements;
*        Initiate purchase orders and revisions for parts, services, tooling and raw materials;
*        Arrange for submission and inspection of incoming products as required;
*        Secure and analyze quotations and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers;
*        Recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities;
*        Study market prices and advise Senior Management of findings;
*        Interview current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management, negotiate prices and delivery terms without guidance;
*        Visit suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of quality and/or delivery problems;
*        Manage inventory levels, schedule receipt of purchased items to meet production schedules;
*        Review WIP sweeps from production floor;
*        Interface with Production and Sales on material status in conjunction with production planning issues; and
*        Maintain accurate inventory data within existing ERP system

Veterans Job Fair at the University of Pittsburgh

It is with great pleasure that I announce that the University of Pittsburgh’s Career Development and Placement Assistance Office and the VA Regional Office are partnering to host a Veteran’s Job Fair on Tuesday April 30th. I am reaching out to let you know that your institutions’ Veteran and current military students are welcome and ENCOURAGED to attend. There is no cost for students and alumni. We simply will require business attire and a current resume for admission. In addition the first 200 attendees will receive a free padfolio!

The day will begin at 11am with an employer panel discussion that all students should find informative and beneficial. The panel will focus on the transition from a military to civilian workforce and will include recruiters from military friendly employers. At noon the fair will open up with 35 employers attending. We are carefully selecting employers who have shown a willingness to hire veterans, have professional positions (internships and full-time) available, and represent a broad set of majors/industries.

Paid Marketing/Social Media Intern




Berner International, the nation’s first Air Curtain Manufacturer, is looking for a paid Marketing/Social Media Intern for the summer of 2013.

Duties/Responsibilities:
·        Assist in the development and launch of Berner’s social media campaigns
o   This will involve researching social media trends, industry trends, etc., and helping formulate a plan.  (Social media campaigns TBD, but could range for Facebook Ads, Pinterest, Google Plus, Slideshare, etc.)
o   Help establish content for Berner’s Social Media
·        Photography/Videography
o   Some light local travel may be expected to obtain photos of air curtain installations.
·        Other Marketing tasks and projects to be assigned
·        Hours – 24 hours per week, can be flexible.

Requirements:
·        Pursuing a degree in Marketing
·        Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
·        Experience with PhotoShop and/or Adobe Illustrator, preferred
·        Must have reliable transportation to take photos (mileage will be paid)

Position Summary      
Computer Technology Support Analyst with skills and experience in administering and supporting a variety of information technology systems and services.

Detailed Description    
Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Technology Support Analyst (Manager 180) in Information Technology (IT) Services (www.iup.edu/ITSupportCenter).

Typical responsibilities include participation in the management and support of a variety of information technology systems and services. Responsible for researching and resolving information technology problems and issues directed to the IT Support Center. Works closely with other units to provide production support for all information systems. Administers a variety of software, hardware, network and desktop computing solutions.

Preferred candidates will possess skills and experience in administering and supporting a variety of information technology systems and services.

Position Qualifications            
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field is required along with 2 years of technical support experience comprised of software and hardware troubleshooting, user training, network administration, and at least 6 months of application development or system administration experience.

Candidates must possess effective written and verbal communication skills and perform well in the interview(s).
