The Sales Intern will assist and support the sales department in all areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Answer and respond to telephone inquiries.

* Takes booking inquiry information via phone and prepares proper paperwork.

* Prepare convention kits to be mailed out to clients.

* Coordinate mailings to producers relaying special rates and/or changes in contract terms as directed.

* Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and restaurant and review competition reader boards to develop leads.

* Generate and maintain social media marketing campaigns.

* Create, post, and/or deliver flyers and marketing materials within the local community.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Requisites

* Strong computer knowledge.

* Strong social media knowledge.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* High School required. College degree preferred.

* Excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retain the message.

* Skilled at establishing effective relationships with customers and internal partners; promoting openness, trust and confidence in one's intentions. Requires effective reading, writing and oral comprehension.

* Service orientation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
