Job Description
The Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce wants to secure TWO interns to assist with marketing and PR for the Chamber. The main objective of this assignment is collection of and design of our quarterly news insert in the McKeesport Daily News. They will also assist in increasing our sales effort for membership and generating participation in our growing calendar of events through various uses of social media.
Part-time: (10-12 hours per week/flexible), year round
Start date: Flexible, based on assignment
MYAC is seeking a college intern to assist the office of Marketing and Business Development with various projects and activities. Responsibilities may include:
-Assist with event planning.
-Writing projects, including newsletter, proposals, and communications.
-PR, social media, website, and other special projects
-Sales and prospecting calls

Desired skills and background:
-Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
-Self-starter, positive attitude
-Interest in marketing, event planning, and/or professional communications
-Strong research skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required
-Salesmanship

Other notes:
-Office dress code is business casual
-Office hours are flexible based upon the intern's schedule
-It is anticipated that this will be an unpaid internship in which the student receives college credit for his/her time to begin and may lead to a paid internship
-Telecommuting is an option
