We are searching for Engineering Interns for our Pittsburgh, PA location. The successful Engineering Intern will work under the close supervision of engineers and scientists, responsible for providing engineering support related to environmental projects including investigations, assessments, engineering studies, designs, and construction-phase services. In addition, the Intern will perform engineering calculations in support of design and construction/remediation projects; analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, test data, aerial photographs and other technical information; support the preparation of engineering reports, cost estimates, specifications, construction schedules, and designs for projects; and, support investigation and construction projects, including monitoring progress and ensuring conformance to engineering plans and specifications, as well as construction and safety standards.
We require the candidate to be working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Previous coop/intern engineering assignments a plus. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based word processing and spreadsheet software as well as the ability to work on and prioritize a variety of technical assignments and complete work satisfactorily and on schedule. We are searching for a candidate with the ability to read and interpret documents such as scientific reports, engineering drawings, operation and maintenance instructions, and user manuals. Candidate must also have the ability to write clear and concise sections of technical reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively with co-workers and clients.
