The Allegheny Valley School District seeks an experienced Bookkeeper with either fund-accounting or government-accounting background preferred. Successful candidate must possess a Bachelor or an Associate Degree in Accounting plus have a minimum of three years’ experience in the field of accounting.  Prior school district experience is a plus. The individual must also be a self-starter, have excellent planning skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, and must effectively communicate with others.  Excellent medical benefits are offered.  Interested individuals are asked to send a cover letter and resume, along with Acts 34, 151, and 114 clearances to:

Web Developer Internship:
The role is responsible for designing, coding and modifying the Corvette World website, from layout to function and according to specifications. Strive to create a visually appealing site that features a user-friendly design and clear navigation.
  • Regular exposure to business stakeholders and executive management, as well as the authority and scope to apply your expertise to technical problems.
  • Candidate must have an understanding of general web functions and standards.
  • The position requires communication with supervisor.
  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.
  • Hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API's.
  • Knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (Bluehost, REST, SOAP, etc ..) is needed to be successful in this position.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - LIVING IN LIBERTY


ABOUT LIVING IN LIBERTY
Living in Liberty is faith-based, privately funded 501c3 nonprofit established in 2012. Women over age 18 exiting CSE, commercial sexual exploitation are eligible to live at a safe house, called the Liberty Home at an undisclosed location in the Greater Pittsburgh area. The Liberty Home can house up to 4 female residents and is fully staffed by female volunteers for round-the-clock individualized care.  Living in Liberty offers a Christ-centered 12 to 18-month residential transitional living program that provides food, clothing, housing, and an array of holistic services for the commercially sexually exploited/trafficked woman, so that she may regain confidence and necessary life skills for healthy independent living.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Living in Liberty offers unpaid internships to gain valuable learning experience into the nonprofit sector and after extensive training, may experience working directly with vulnerable high-risk populations, females who have fallen victim to sex trafficking.
The Intern may work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator, Executive Director and/or Liberty Safe Home Director. During the internship, the Intern will focus her/his internship in several key areas of Living in Liberty to understand its mission and how the organization operates as a nonprofit. Rotating through “pillars” which support the entire organization, Intern(s) will have the opportunity to experience human trafficking Education/ Awareness/ Prevention, Program Fundraising, Street Outreach, and Resale shop (created for sustainability) volunteering etc..
Majors may include:  Human Services, Human Resource Management, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminology, Mental Health,  Behavioral Health, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Web Design, Advertising, Sales and Marketing, Business Management etc..

TBS, Inc. is seeking a dynamic professional to serve as the Operations Manager for a great co-working space on the PSU campus in New Kensington. The Corner is a partnership with the entrepreneurship program at PSU New Kensington and aims to provide a collaborative, comfortable environment to foster ideas, projects, initiatives and networking. The ideal candidate for this position will engage current and potential members in conversation about how we can meet their needs and help their business flourish then implement that feedback through exemplary services, events and amenities.
Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and operational leadership within the space
  • Driving sales within the space by conducting tours, answering inquiries and conducting community outreach
  • Delivering prompt and thoughtful responses and solutions to members both verbally and in writing
  • Providing oversight of all physical space operations, amenities and member service infrastructure
  • Serving as brand advocate and playing an integral role in developing the community through feedback from members
  • Supervising support staff in maintaining the presentation of the space and ensuring efficient opening and closing daily
  • Fostering relationships with key vendors to provide services and amenities
  • Coordinating basic maintenance services as needed within the space
  • Collaborating with the leadership team on deliverables, leadership and growth of the location
  • Engaging the immediate and greater New Kensington community in order to promote internal programming and development of the entrepreneurial growth of the city
The successful candidate for this role will:

  • Exhibit an exceptional level of attention to detail and customer service
  • Bring 5+ years of service sector experience
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management or a related field
  • Employ communication skills and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrate proficient utilization of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to utilize and support technology within the space
