HOPE Center Volunteer/Internship Opportunities

The Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center, Inc. offers supportive services, opportunities for healing, and community education to assist victims, and end violence and abuse.
Internship Opportunities
Internship opportunities are offered through Tier 3 Volunteering.  If you are interested in applying for an Internship with the HOPE Center, please complete and submit the Intern Application.  HOPE accepts up to three interns per semester, Interns must be able to complete the 45-hour domestic violence training (the hours count towards Internship hours).

Sales Development Program Intern

The Sales Development Program Internship (SDP) is a 3 month internship that prepares individuals for entry level positions in sales, with End Customers, Integrators and original equipment manufacturer selling either direct or through wholesaler-distributors. 

SDP program fine tunes individual’s strengths in business, communications, information systems management, engineering and technology, and professional selling. 

SDPs receive hands on education through training from industry leading professionals through modern classroom training, joint customer development and field experience.  

This program has been developed through the support and participation of industry leading Account Management Teams and Sales Management in partnership with Siemens Global Business’s. 

The Siemens SDP program prepares students with the tools for today’s business practices in Industrial Sales.

The IUP Accounting Career Day will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Rustic Lodge, 2199 Oakland Avenue, Indiana, PA 15701. 

Students from other universities (including Penn State) in the fields of accounting and finance are welcome to attend.  

The registration fee is $10 per person. Checks are preferred, made out to the IUP Student Accounting Association, or we will accept cash if necessary.

A list of most of the employers (those registered as of Friday 8/17) is now on the web site, and will be updated closer to the date.

Seeking Citizen Leadership Program Coordinator, Brandeis University





The Center for Youth and Communities at The Heller School, Brandeis University seeks a Program Coordinator to support the Eli J. & Phyllis N. Segal Citizen Leadership Program. The Segal Program Coordinator will work closely with the Segal Program Director and the senior team at the Center. Organizational Context:
Within the Heller School mission of “knowledge advancing social justice,” the Center’s goal is “to make knowledge productive,” combining scholarly research and practical experience. It is a university-based, community-focused enterprise working with communities, school districts, nonprofits, government, corporations and foundations, community colleges and universities to prepare young people for college, work, and life, including active citizen leadership.
Within the Center, the mission of the Segal Citizen Leadership Program is to foster the next generation of citizen leaders. It was established to honor and continue the work of the late Eli Segal, his wife Phyllis, and their commitment to developing new generations of leaders. The Program is a constantly expanding, intergenerational constellation of citizen leaders working across all sectors, who give each other lifelong support as they devise solutions to society’s most intractable problems. With the help of over 600 partners, 106 Segal Fellows are making an impact in 23 states and 4 countries.

Position Summary:
The Segal Program Coordinator will assist the Director of the Eli J. & Phyllis N. Segal Citizen Leadership Program and the Segal Leadership Team at the Center for Youth and Communities with programmatic management and provide administrative support. The Coordinator will support Fellow recruitment, Fellow engagement, network expansion, donor stewardship, event/training management, and communications. This role will include several independently managed projects and require relevant experience and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Compensation: Salary range is $43,000-$45,000 per year.

Radiology Technologist, Fox Chapel- Part-time

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. (40%)
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. (20%)
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. (20%)
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. (20%)

Entry Level Network/Communications Administrator

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Information Technology Communication Systems team is responsible for the timely delivery, deployment, support, and security of video conference systems for Naval Reactors (NR) Program users. These systems are critical to the NR Programs ability to deliver the highest quality design products to NR and support safe operations in the fleet.

Health Facility Quality Examiner (Nursing)

The Health Facility Quality Examiner (HFQE ) Nursing includes a wide range of duties and responsibilities.  

Several duties include annual surveys of all nursing home facilities within an eight county region. 

Investigation of complaints, incidents and other potential hazardous conditions that may exist within a nursing home.  

These duties will also include an examination of a facility's physical environment.

Electrical Engineering Intern

As a member of the technical staff at Gecko Robotics, the electrical engineer is responsible for the design of new electronic products up to full production. 

This includes specification reviews, development program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, preproduction builds, and transfers to production. 

This engineer will also be responsible for technical support of some electronic products currently in production.

Wire Processing Analyst I

Under close supervision, the incumbent is required to utilize multiple application systems to review, input and release critical outgoing domestic and foreign wire transfer transactions in accordance with established business unit and corporate policies. 

Work is assigned by the Wire Transfer Unit Manager. 

Examples of responsibilities include: evaluating request forms for completeness and accuracy; confirming approvers' authorization status; verifying debit account status/balance; generating financial transactions to fund wires; keying wire data into processing applications; performing quality review of other wire processing analysts' transaction input, correcting if needed and releasing; researching and resolving daily out of balance situations at end of day as needed, and researching and resolving returned wires and other discrepancies as assigned. 

The Wire Processing Analyst I is expected to develop competency in wire processing sufficiently, to enable incumbent to learn and support additional functions within the Wire Transfer Unit Team, and throughout Deposit Services.
