Leader Launch is Soon!

for Leader Launch on Friday, February 8th in Pittsburgh!

At this annual half-day conference and dinner event you will hear directly from alumni and employer representatives about advice and recommendations for making the most of your Penn State education and how to navigate the post-graduation “real world” after Penn State!  Networking at this event could result in opportunities for internships and jobs!  Advice from current graduate school students will also be included!

This half-day conference gathers PSNK students and recent graduates and is open to all majors. You will hear multiple presentations by real professionals and Penn State alumni in order to learn more about how to create a strong career path and find opportunities with Pittsburgh’s companies and organizations. The day will conclude with a student-alumni networking dinner at Roland’s in the Strip District where you can enjoy making important connections with professionals & peers in your field.

Who: Any PSNK student interested in finding good internships and jobs, in making contacts that could lead to career opportunities, and in building career skills that employers value.  Open to all majors and semester levels! (first-year through graduating)

When: Friday, February 8, 2019 (bus transportation provided; leaves campus at 12:15 pm and returns by 8:30pm)

Disney College Program

A warm welcome to the official start of the Disney College Program spring recruiting season.  Our application formally “goes live” tomorrow and interested students can begin applying then for our Fall (August-early January) & Fall Advantage (May/June-early January) programs.  Additionally, we’ll be offering those who have completed a past program with us a Summer Alumni option, which will be communicated to them in February. Please note we anticipate our regular Disney College Program application closing on Friday, March 22nd.

As a reminder, the majority of our Professional Internships for fall opportunities will also open this week.  Closing dates for these positions can vary. Finally the application for theDisney Culinary Program is already open and we’ll be accepting applications for this program up until late May/early June.

Leader Launch 2019

Attention all PSNK students! It is time to come and buy your ticket for
Leader Launch. What is Leader Launch? Well, it is a fun day out with your
friends learning about how to be a better student leader, interview skills, skills
that you will need in the workplace, and what you need to do in school to help
you succeed. Throughout the day, you will be exposed to helpful tips and advice
from guest speakers, employers and PSNK alumni. It will be taking place on Friday,
February 8 from 11:15 to 8 pm at the Penn State Center in Pittsburgh. Transportation

Tech Plus One: Job Opportunity for Graduating Biomedical Engineering Technology Students

Overview

The Tech Plus One receives clinical equipment repair training under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management.  Duties include, but are not limited to, planned maintenance inspections, calibrations, repairs of non-complex equipment, inventory projects at new customer sites, validation and inspection of clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and proper operation.  The Tech Plus One is trained by experienced technicians in the troubleshooting and major repair of complex equipment. The individual demonstrates adherence to the TRIMEDX core values in all professional interactions by showing respect to all people, creating real value, initiating meaningful change, and exhibiting integrity.
Responsibilities
Technical Service (75%)
  • Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on non-complex general biomedical equipment
  • Repair, install, and calibrate general biomedical equipment
  • Receive training on general biomedical equipment and demonstrate proficiency repairing equipment once trained
  • Complete 90 day equipment training schedule
  • Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education
  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Clinical Engineering Field Support (25%)

  • Provide temporary coverage at sites with resource strains
  • Temporary support to sites for PA’s, special projects, etc.
  • Temporary coverage during RSQ training at new sites
  • Assist with inventory validation for scope expansion projects
  • Participate on inventory audit teams to existing TRIMEDX sites
  • Attend inventory validation trips at customer site as needed
  • Follow TRIMEDX process for matching & tagging medical equipment at new customer site
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
  • BA/BS in relevant field of study such as (but not limited to) engineering, biomedical technology, or information technology is preferred
  • Associates degree in a technical/electronics field, or equivalent military training required
  • Completion of a biomed internship is preferred

Knowledge
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to travel for additional training as required
  • Must be able to travel for inventory validations as needed
  • Must be able to relocate, after successful completion of the Tech Plus One program,  to a site of TRIMEDX’s choosing
