Experience Works! PLUS Post-Secondary Internship Program

The Experience Works! PLUS Post- Secondary Internship Program provides wages to college students ages 18 to 24 interning at unpaid internships. This program enables local employers to build a future workforce by giving post-secondary students the opportunity to explore career opportunities.

Main Internship and Participant Requirements:
• Participant must be working at an internship located in Westmoreland or Fayette county.
• Participant must either permanently live in Westmoreland or Fayette county or must attend a post-secondary institution located in Westmoreland or Fayette county.
• Participant must complete and submit an application and a resume to Westmoreland-Fayette WIB.
• Participants' internships must align closely to the major/field of interest that the participant holds while attending their post-secondary institution.
• Internships will receive $11.00/hour.  
• The minimum amount of time worked by the intern must not be less than 25 hours/week. The maximum amount of time worked by the intern must not be more than 40 hours/week.
• Participant will be enrolled in the program for 8 consecutive weeks. These 8 weeks will not be extended.
• Participant will be required to participate in and complete an orientation and workforce preparations training sessions. 

• Applications and Internship Job Descriptions will be reviewed until June 26, 2020. Both an application and internship job description are required PRIOR to the intern beginning in the program.
