Position Description:
This position is responsible for: Performing critical and non-standard measurements on engineered products and processes including-residual stresses, thermal, air speed, vibrations, force, strain, alignment, etc. Use electronics and computer background to design and develop measurement systems to make non-standard measurements, and write SOPs for others to follow. Typical ATC areas of measurements include- strain measurements, formability measurements, crack extension and initiation measurements, high-strain rate deformation measurements, rolling mill measurements, and temperature measurements. In addition, this person is responsible for aligning all dynamic test machines in the labs, and participating in maintenance activities in the lab. May also contribute to standard testing in one of the mechanical testing labs.
 
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in electronics.
Good communication and organizational skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
 
- Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills
- Must possess excellent documentation skills
Must possess good computer skills
Must have strong math skills.
Proficient in Microsoft EXCEL and other Microsoft Office products

The successful candidate will write, edit, and publish descriptive and procedural information in operating and technical manuals, and will also develop and administer electronic document file collections and end products.  Activity in the publishing environment still requires publishing of traditional paper documents, but the emphasis is shifting to electronic products:  documents on CD-ROM, Web-based documents, shared systems, multimedia applications.  Experience with markup languages such as SGML and XML is strongly desired.  The basic mission is always to express in words, clearly and unambiguously, what Naval personnel need to operate a propulsion plant or deck plate personnel need to perform detailed nuclear work.

MLP Steel is looking to hire a Sales Engineer who will be responsible for selling products using technical knowledge, resulting in revenue generation.  This is an immediate need for a motivated team player.

 

Applicants must have a strong desire to learn and accept additional responsibilities that may be offered.  Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years of field sales experience. Experience in the metals industry is desired.  Must be able to travel 60% of the time.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Performs marketing research and assists with the development of marketing strategies.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on the phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Reviews blueprints, plans and other Customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates.
  • Analyzes incoming orders from customers covering a wide scope of company products and contacts order sources to clarify or correct order discrepancies.
  • Verifies pricing, conditions of sales, and customer's shipping information.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of MLP’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales acknowledgment for orders obtained.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows.

Attached is a position description for a part-time Activities Coach for the Allegheny County Housing Authority’ Booker Community Center located in Natrona Heights.  The Center serves teens between the ages of 13 and 17 leaving in the Highland School District.  The new facility comes equipped with a computer lab, gymnasium and recreation room with a pool table and other gaming table for teens.  Summer hours at the Center will be 1-6 pm.
