Public Relations Intern with Pipitone Group

Internship: Public Relations

 

Internship program within Pipitone Group's PR practice has an opening. As part of the program, the intern will assist in the research and writing of bylined articles and news releases, build media lists and editorial calendars, evaluate news clips to assess quantitative/qualitative public relations impact and participate in client meetings. The prospective intern must be enrolled in a public relations/communications/marketing major-based curriculum and have achieved Junior or Senior class status. Strong writing, research and organizational skills a must. The candidate must be willing to work regular set times (the equivalent of at least 15-20 hours a week, for the period of at least one semester). The position is unpaid—but excellent for college credit and real-world experience. Pipitone Group will collaborate with the student to complete necessary college credit paperwork.

  • Assisting in research and writing of articles, white papers and news releases.
  • Building databases specific to client's channels—using several Web-based software programs on which intern will receive training.
  • Social media message development for various channels and blogs
  • Social media monitoring
  • Evaluating earned media placements to assess quantitative/qualitative public relations impact, return on investment, etc.
  • Student may be asked to participate in client meetings.
This is excellent for college credit and real-world experience. Pipitone Group will collaborate with student to complete necessary college credit paperwork.

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a public relations/communications/marketing major-based curriculum.
  • Has achieved Junior or Senior class status
  • Has sound writing skills
  • Is willing to work regular set times (e.g., the equivalent of at least 2-3 days at the same times each week, for the period of at least one school term)
