Customer Service Representative Internship with Pittsburgh Pirates

POSITION:        Customer Service Representative (Seasonal position:  January-September)
REPORTS TO:    Manager, Ticket Sales and Service

Applicants MUST have flexible schedule and be available to work 4pm – 10pm, Monday - Friday and any hours on Saturday and Sunday.

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing customer service and problem-solving in accordance to Pittsburgh Pirates Policies, Procedures, and Programs to all current and potential ticket holders and to record into a database all pertinent information to aid in servicing customer accounts.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and game days
• Minimum of one year customer service experience
• Database entry experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
DESIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sports Marketing, Sales or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft CRM Database and Ticketing Software

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing customer service to current and potential ticket holders such as: problem-solving, ticket processing and handling inquiries and requests.
• Recording and entering into a database all pertinent customer information including: new names, addresses and all other information considered to be important to the servicing of customer accounts.
• Learning all Pirates policies, procedures and programs to ensure proficient service in answering customer inquiries and problem-solving.
• Handling a variety of ticket orders such as: promotional orders, ticket exchanges, season ticket add on orders and various ticket plans and deals.
• Assist with fulfillment of benefits for Season Ticket Holders.
• Assist with Season Ticket Holder events.
• Game day responsibilities including answering incoming ticket line questions.
• All other duties as assigned by the Manager, Ticket Service and Retention and Coordinator, Season Ticket Service and Retention.

Ticket Sales Internship with Pittsburgh Pirates

POSITION:        Ticket Sales Internship (Spring)
REPORTS TO:    Manager, Ticket Sales and Service

SUMMARY:
This internship will assist the Ticket Sales Department (Premium, Retention, New Business and Group Sales) with various season and off-season office tasks, as well as game day responsibilities.  The intern will also support the sales team with developing marketing and sales materials and managing the distribution of this material to potential customers that have been targeted through market research.  In addition to learning the basics of our main ticketing systems (CRM and PVE) the intern will update customer information and learn the programs.  The intern will assist the sales staff at events hosted at the ball park and off site include (not limited to): Season Ticket Holder Events along with Group and Premium events.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited institution.
• Candidates majoring in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Business or related area.
• Junior, Senior of graduate level.

Diversity Initiatives Internship with Pittsburgh Pirates

REPORTS TO:    Manager of Diversity Initiatives

SUMMARY:
This intern will work in conjunction with the Community and Public Affairs Department with the execution of community programs, events, and program development. Programs include Heritage Weekend, Disability Awareness, Latino Celebration, summer reading programs, Youth Baseball & Softball initiatives etc.  Intern will also assist with events for the department which may include game day support and Pirates Charities events.  Special focus on Diversity Initiatives and programs around specific target audiences.  

REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited institution.
• Candidates majoring in Business Administration, Communications, Sports Management, or related area.
• Junior, Senior, or Graduate level students.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the development and coordination of major events including diversity outreach, reading programs, Heritage Weekend, etc.
• Handle general office duties such as data entry, copying, filing, etc.
• Develop and manage the Pirates diversity database.
• Represent the organization at community functions where key community contacts may be in attendance.
• Coordinate ticket distribution programs through outreach to non-profit organizations and community groups (i.e. Awareness Series/Give-Back Days).
• All other duties as assigned by the Manager of Diversity Initiatives.

CRM Management Internship with Pittsburgh Pirates

SUMMARY:
This internship will assist the Analytics Department in various projects and assignments, including assisting in the continual gathering, processing, reporting, and analysis of sales and demographic information related to Pirates Tickets sales.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited institution.
• Candidates majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related area.
• Junior, Senior, or Graduate level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the gathering, processing, reporting, and analysis of sales demographic information related to Pirates ticket sales.
• Assist in campaign related activities in the sales database online.
• Assist in the management of the Ballpark Survey Staff, survey reporting, and analysis.
• Assist in the management of the CRM Database, including data clean up, debugging, and developing further tools to aid in the user training and acceptance.
