TRANSPORTATION INTERN
The
Department of City Planning for the City of Pittsburgh has a need for interns
for field data collection and benchmarking research of best practices for areas
such as (but not limited to) streetscape design and functional context, the
integration of transportation and land use, transportation and energy
conservation, Intelligent Transportation Systems technologies, transportation
and economic development, transportation impact fees and parking cash-out
funding strategies, real estate value capture, joint development projects with
transit, transportation and public health.
Opportunities
for field data collection are contingent upon active planning projects.
Research opportunities are continual and are meant to provide a means by which
new ideas and thinking are continually refreshing the knowledge base of the
Department. Potential outcomes include the production of position briefs and
educational materials for incorporation into the MOVEPGH Multimodal
Transportation Plan process. MOVEPGH represents the transportation component of
PLANPGH, the City of Pittsburgh’s first ever Comprehensive Plan.

manual and digital. Applicants will be required to operate in a variety of
