Network Administrator

Multiple positions, varying locations. 
  • Providing support, assistance, and managing service requests and incidents to ensure they are completed or escalated properly.
  • Serving as the first escalation point for problems and incidents not resolved by the Service Desk or other Network Administrators.
  • Actively monitoring service availability and is proactive to avoid service disruptions and reduce failures. Develops ideas for implementation to improve overall service availability.
Supports Business Initiatives by:
  • Working closely with various IT areas to transition and streamline support tasks
  • Working on projects, multiple tasks, and accurately reports the status of all assignments
  • Developing ideas for implementation to improve overall service availability
Contributes Professionally by:
  • Actively developing and maintaining procedures, processes, and troubleshooting documents
  • Providing training to Network Administrators and Service Desk technicians
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies
  • Completing other duties as assigned
Job Specifications:
Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Related field or relevant work experience
Administration/Support of core Network hardware and software Technologies:
  • Switches, routers, firewalls, VPN concentrators, wireless access points and controllers
  • Firmware patches
  • Network monitoring tools  
Administration/Support of Various Core Services:
  • LAN/WAN access
  • Internet access - Secure URL filter (Websense)
  • Site to Site VPNs
  • IDS/IPS
  • Vulnerability scanner
  • System backup and recovery

Application Support Specialist - IST


Application Support Specialist

Opportunity is southwest of the city. Full-time, direct hire opportunity. 
  • Work directly with the development team and customer support team to understand their issues and needs, provide internal software support including development and support of internal tools, scripts and reports, partner with developers, evaluate and improve internal processes, and incorporate lessons learned to improve the application support process going forward.
  • Write scripts and internal tools, including implementing, maintaining, and improving scripts and internal tools developed by the company.
  • Participate in continual improvement of the company’s internal tools and processes involved in the Application Support process.
  • Provide System Administration support, including maintenance of Windows servers used in demo and QA environments and deployment of software builds for demo and QA.
The ideal candidate has:
  • Associates degree or significantly related experience in related discipline, required, Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Strong skills programming SQL, required
  • Experience with the following technology stacks required: SQL, SQL Server
Preferable experience needed:
  • Experience with the following tools or technologies a plus: Jira, AWS, command-line/UNIX shell/bash, C#, LINQ, LINQPad
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, with ability to explain technical design, concepts to both developers and non-developers.
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • Ability to express concepts and new ideas effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments or projects effectively.
  • Strong time management skills.

  • SQL/code samples and Stack Overflow profile a plus.

Support Technician - IST


Support Technician.

Opportunity is north of the city.  Full-time contract to hire opportunity. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Windows and MAC desktop and laptop computers
  • General access and connectivity issues
  • Desktop application issues
  • Basic administration of user accounts and groups
  • Take ownership of trouble tickets, working and tracking issues to resolution
  • Record detailed information into Service Desk ticketing system
  • Support for mobile devices such as iPhones, Blackberries, and Android phones
QUALIFICATIONS (any combination of skills)
  • Windows operating systems
  • Apple operating systems
  • Proficient in Active Directory
  • Knowledge of network basics
  • Email clients (Microsoft Outlook)
  • Knowledge of VPN basics
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal are vital
  • Excellent customer service skills are vital
  • College or Technical Institute degree in Information Technology or other related discipline required. May be substituted by 2 or more years of experience in a Help Desk/Call Center environment.
  • IT Certifications (Apple, Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL, HDI etc.) preferred
  • Customer service, especially with inbound phone contact
