Evening Producer
WICU/WSEE is seeking a full-time evening producer to join our Erie News Now Sunrise team immediately. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day production our 10PM & 11PM newscasts. This position works closely with the News Director and evening anchor teams to produce all content. In this position the ideal candidate will write, produce, and time the show as well as develop content on our digital platforms.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce a 10PM & 11PM Newscast.
  • Produce evening teases and topical reports that air during prime-time programming.
  • Update website, social media, and mobile app.
  • Coordinate live shots with reporters in the field.
  • Enterprise story ideas with the evening news team.
Job Requirements:
  • Journalism degree preferred
  • Experience with non-linear editing system (Adobe Premiere a plus)
  • Strong Writer
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve.

Multimedia Journalist
WICU/WSEE is seeking a full-time multimedia journalist to join the Erie News Now team. We are looking for someone who is a strong writer, displays excellent technical skills, and is capable of working independently.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Enterprising story ideas
  • General assignment reporting
  • Shooting and editing video
  • Producing daily content for digital platforms
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with Sony & Panasonic production cameras are a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar non-linear editing system.
  • Experience with Dejero system is a plus.

Photojournalist/Reporter
WICU/WSEE are looking to fill an immediate need for a next generation journalist. The ideal photographer/reporter would enterprise, write, shoot, and edit for daily newscasts. This position has a strong emphasis on photography with variable reporting opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Shoot stories for reporters
  • Shoot high quality video and gather information for daily newscasts.
  • Put together high quality stories.
  • Coverage of breaking news and sports
  • Edit video and packages for daily newscasts.
  • Send back video and pictures from the field with the ability to edit in the field.
  • Shoot and track news stories.
  • Work with the newsroom on packages, special reports and documentaries.
  • Fill-in and variable on-air reporting may be assigned.
  • Shift may include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Required Skills:

  • Excellent photography and editing skills.

  • Works quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to shoot and edit high quality video.

Technical Director
WICU/WSEE has an immediate opening for a full-time technical director. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and detailed oriented to be involved in various aspects of our Broadcast TV operations. Applicant will be trained on our systems, which include Ross Switchers, Autocue Newsroom System and Adobe Premiere Pro but knowledge of the television production process is preferred. Duties will be varied and will not be limited to technical directing

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation of equipment used to produce newscasts.
  • Support the news department by working closely with producers and talent.
  • Support other production activities and special projects.
  • Other duties include audio, live operations, camera work and operation of other television related equipment.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts; including holidays and weekends.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of VizRT, Ross Equipment, Adobe Creative Suite, Production Cameras are a plus.

Weekend Morning Meteorologist/Reporter 
WICU/WSEE (Erie, PA) and One Caribbean Television is seeking a full-time meteorologist for a unique position on the First Warning Weather team. We have an aggressive approach to weather in the heart of the lake-effect snowbelt, true to the First Warning Weather brand. This position will involve covering significant weather events live with our new Mobile StormTracker, as well as doing Caribbean cut-ins from the studio for tropical storms and hurricanes for our cable operation.
The ideal candidate will anchor Northwest Pennsylvania’s only Weekend Morning show from 8 AM to 9 AM Saturdays & Sundays, and then spend three additional days in a typical week, mainly focused on weather content. You’ll work with an experienced team on the NBC, CBS and CW affiliates for northwest Pennsylvania, plus One Caribbean Television, which is carried by approximately 30 cable companies, primarily in the islands and Central America. 
Candidate will provide critical weather information to the public through many platforms, from broadcast television to radio to the web, social media, push notifications and beyond.  This candidate will also be asked to fill in for other meteorologists on various shifts throughout the week, as needed.
As a reporter, the candidate will be asked to tell visual and informative weather stories as well as occasional news stories when called upon.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Forecast and produce weekend morning weather broadcast.
  • Forecast and produce Caribbean Weather forecast for our 24/7 Cable Station: One Caribbean Television.
  • Making public appearances on behalf of the station
Job Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience is preferred, although a strong candidate with no full-time commercial television experience may be considered
B.S. in Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences is preferred, although all are welcome to apply
