Selection Criteria for PPG Primers

To qualify for this level of our Primers program, students must be a in their junior or senior year of school and graduating between December 2024 and April 2026.


In addition, students must:

·      Be a full-time undergraduate student and maintain a 3.2 GPA.

·      Ability to relocate within the US for each rotation and work a minimum of 10 weeks in each rotation.

·      Be a citizen of the U.S. or possess authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

·      Demonstrate Leadership Potential, Strong Communication Skills, and Interest in a career with PPG

·      To continue within the program, students must maintain enrollment in one of the above listed programs and keep the GPA requirement.

 


The program kicks off with a Spring 2024 Primer Insight Day, an Intern focused program giving selected students the opportunity to build professional skills and engage with top leaders in PPG’s businesses and learn about our organization before the Internship Program. Our 2024 Primer Insight Day will be hosted virtually in March or April 2024.

 

Tracks could include rotations focused in:

·      Analytics, Business Administration, Business Analysis

·      Engineering (Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Energy, Mechanical, Materials Science, and more)

·      Chemistry, Research and Development, Processing and Testing

·      Digital

·      Environmental Heath and Safety

·      Finance

·      Human Resources

·      Marketing

·      IT

·      Supply Chain

·      Research and Development

Future Leaders in Public Service Intern

Department of Housing and Urban Development

Emma Loizzo is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is double majoring in public policy and sociology with a focus on social and economic justice and a minor in city and regional planning. Loizzo spent the summer with the Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program and interned at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the Office of Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight (OAMPO). Loizzo extended the internship with HUD through the fall and is working part-time for OAMPO with hopes of returning full-time after graduation.

Assistant Teacher - Appleseed Learning Center

Assistant Teacher Position at Appleseed Learning Center

Appleseed Learning Center, a Keystone STAR 4 facility, is seeking students majoring in early childhood education and/or child development who wish to gain experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. We have immediate openings for full time, part-time, and substitute positions as assistant teachers. Job Title: Assistant Teacher, $15/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

  • · Assist lead teachers with daily lessons and activities.
  • · Meet the individual needs of each child.
  • · Interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
  • · Present developmentally appropriate expectations for each child’s age and developmental level.
  • · Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
  • · Participate in staff and training meetings.
  • · Commit to continued professional development.
