Account Analyst
The Account Analyst role is an entry-level position. The incumbent reports to the Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining accounting records relating to a specific group of mutual fund, separate account, commingled trust and/or limited partnership entities in accordance with department policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for performing some or all of the following middle office functions for a series of assigned institutional investment portfolios: Custodian bank reconciliations analysis (cash, asset and market value), break assignment and resolution of reconciliation breaks, daily portfolio valuation processes, account level pricing, net asset valuation calculations (NAV), monthly accounting close processes, cash projection reports, cash management support, monthly end-client statement workflow and validation, and ad hoc reporting.
The Account Analyst will be required to effectively interface with various global institutions within the financial services industry. The incumbent will interface will Custodian Banks, Asset Managers, Valuation Agents, Securities Lending Agents and Mutual Fund Administrators. The incumbent will be required to communicate and service the front office of an Asset Manager, including the trading operations and their portfolio research teams. The candidate will also be required to effectively work with various internal functional teams and operational “Centers of Excellence” globally – located in the Americas, EMEA and India.
Minimum experience, skills, certifications and academic background necessary to perform the position:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 0 – 12 months industry experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure within set deadlines.
