Founded in 2010, Cameroon Football Development Program (CFDP) employs a distinct approach to health and social education in Cameroon, Africa by leveraging the nation’s love of soccer. Local leaders are responsible to engage youth ages 12 to 18 in a combination of soccer drills and discussions on leadership, life skills, health and HIV education using a proven curriculum developed by similar organizations operating on the continent. We partner with secondary schools, youth associations, and neighborhood soccer clubs and organize weekly sessions, monthly camps, and competitions. Additionally CFDP creates opportunities for bilateral cultural exchange between groups in the US and Cameroon which include pen pals, soccer team connections, and cultural immersion (travel) programs.
