human service programs in 14 states. RHD's mission is to empower people as they
build the highest level of independence possible, building better lives for
themselves, their families and their communities. Community Passages is an RHD
program that provides in-home residential support to individuals with
developmental disabilities.
Job Description: RHD/Community Passages
is seeking to hire residential advisors to work directly with individuals
dually diagnosed with mental illness and developmental disabilities in the
North Hills of Pittsburgh. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Residential Advisors are responsible for the support and enhancement of the
quality of life of individuals served, by assisting in day-to-day activities
that promote positive outcomes. Duties include, but are not limited to,
providing instruction, assistance and role modeling in life skill areas of
leisure time, financial management, medication monitoring, crisis management,
accessing community resources, community engagement, shopping and vocational
development. Personal care is also needed at times.
Prior experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors is desired. A valid Drivers License required. An applicant with a Bachelor's degree in a social services field is preferred, but will consider an applicant with HS Diploma or GED and directly related experience. Program specific training will be provided. Comprehensive benefits package is offered to all full time employees. Full and part time positions available.
