The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is currently recruiting to fill 30+ Youth Development Aide openings at their Juvenile Justice Facilities in Huntingdon, Perry, Montour, and Franklin Counties.

Nature of Work:
This is non-professional work providing for the care, custody, supervision and development of court adjudicated youth in a state operated Youth Development Center (YDC) or Youth Forestry Camp (YFC).

Starting Salary:
$33,424 annually and don't forget about the great benefits package!
Note: Hourly rate of $16.02 is increased to $17.02 for employees who work 2nd or 3rd shift! These positions also come with the potential of an early retirement at age 55!

In order to be considered,

applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application, pass the PA State Civil Service exam for Youth Development Aide, and meet the following criteria:

Successful completion of the Youth Development Aide Trainee program; OR one year of experience in the care, custody, activities or personal guidance of adolescents or adults in a behavioral, educational, or community-based capacity; OR completion of 30 college credits, which included 12 credits in behavioral sciences or criminal justice.

NOTE: While PA residency is not required in order to be considered for Youth Development Aide opportunities, applicants must take Civil Service exam in PA. Testing centers are located in Harrisburg, Erie, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Philadelphia, Johnstown, and Lockhaven.
