Job Title: Dormitory
Counselor
Employment Opportunities: The
Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry is currently recruiting to fill
one vacancy for Dormitory Counselor at the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Cambria
County.
Applications will be accepted until July
31, 2015.
Nature of Work: You will perform paraprofessional work in the residential
care, custody, guidance and supervision of students at the Hiram G. Andrews
Center. You will provide physical care
and guidance in personal problems, hygiene, work and study habits, and social
and recreational activities. You will
assign and supervise work details; inspect attire, living quarters, and
lockers. You will monitor student
behavior in the dining hall, study areas, gym, auditorium, and
dormitories. You will transport and
accompany students to activities and events on and off school grounds.
Minimum
Requirements: To be considered
for Dormitory Counselor, applicants must complete the Civil
Service application and the associated exam.
This job title requires three years of experience in working with school age children (aged 6 to 21) or adults in an organized physical, recreational, educational, or related program; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Note: College education, with major coursework in education, physical education, or recreation may be substituted for experience.
You will have a maximum of 2 ½ hours to complete the
test. The test will be held in
Johnstown, PA, at 727 Goucher Street. You
may only test once under this
announcement. The most recent examination result will be the only one counted.
Pennsylvania
residency is required for this job
title.
