This position is part of Highmark's IT College Recruiting Program and is intended for recent college graduates. A key part of this program is the IT Rotational Program. This employee development program takes the participants through a range of assignments that provide the scope, challenge and experience that builds the necessary skills to exceed at Highmark. Through this rotational program, participants are exposed to a variety of exciting information technology assignments over the course of two years. Targeted training focuses on increasing business acumen, career and personal development, goal setting, and goal achievement. This position is an ideal starting point for any career path in IT, whether as an application developer, project manager, network analyst, information security, or data center operations. * Develop relationships and work cooperatively with other information technology (IT) departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. * Assist and/or collect and analyze business and system requirements for their assigned tasks and projects. * Identify conflicting system integration issues and suggest alternative solutions. * Assist in the definition of scope and objectives for their assignments. * Provide input on the status of project efforts; anticipate and identify issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals; and implement corrective actions. * Provide input into the preparation of project plans. * Provide administrative and technical support to install, maintain, and upgrade purchased software applications. * Provide technical support in areas such as performance monitoring and issue resolution. * This position is required to comply with all Highmark Corporate Policies and Information Technology Procedures and Standards. Students eligible for this program have recently earned a bachelor's degree (or higher), and have typically majored or minored in an Information Technology (IT), Business/Finance, or Health Care related discipline, such as those listed below. For non-IT disciplines, a minor or completion of a number of IT-related courses is preferred. Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Science. o Must be legally authorized to work for any United States employer without requiring sponsorship (sponsorship is currently not being offered for this program) Extracurricular involvement in school, church, community or workplace organizations or activities.
