In Game Social Media Intern, Undergraduate

ROOT SPORTS--- is the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins. The network reaches more than 2.9 million households across five states and delivers more than 350 live events each year - all of which are also available in high definition.
ROOT SPORTS interns directly contribute to our productions, both shows and games, on a daily basis. This internship will be a dual role that will focus on Social Media and also assist in our magazine shows like Inside Penguins Hockey and Inside Pirates Baseball. Social Media Interns will work directly with the game production crew as the Social Media coordinator. By monitoring Twitter, Facebook, and text messages throughout the game, this position will have a direct impact on what makes it on the air. Other aspect will be researching, logging and writing for our magazine shows. Editing skills are a plus.
Our interns do NOT regularly have the opportunity to attend sporting events, so we are looking for candidates who have a genuine interest in production.
•Extensive knowledge of Twitter and Facebook, including the posting of videos, pictures, links etc.
•Must also be fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be currently enrolled in college courses, or graduated within the last six months
•Passionate knowledge of regional sports teams both pro and collegiate
•Self-motivated and goal-oriented with strong management and organizational skills
•Editing skills and Final Cut experience are a plus
•Willing to work outside of normal business hours
