Beaver County Commissioners Beaver County Intern
Under immediate supervision of the Chief of Staff, the intern will support the functions of the Commissioners
Office staff and Chief of Staff while gaining knowledge of basic government functions. The intern must be
enrolled full-time at an accredited university or college pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in
business administration and/or accounting.
The intern will:
- Learn purchasing procedures for a government entity.
- Learn budget procedures in a government environment.
- Prepare agendas and reports for the Board of Commissioners meetings or those of the Chief of Staff and will be responsible for providing required information for those meetings as needed.
- Research information and assist staff with public inquiries pertaining to county government.
- Assist the Chief of Staff with report preparation and departmental issues for IT, Micrographics, Purchasing and Payroll.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic business processes, preferably within a government environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Knowledge in Excel and Crystal reporting.
- Ability to work well within a professional environment.
Pay Rate will be $12.00 per hour working 35 hours per week for 10 weeks. Internship period runs from June
