Job Description

JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer DATE: July 11, 2012

REPORTS TO: Senior Engineer HOURS: As Required

FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salary

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide professional electrical engineering services to the Company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Engineer and design new products from initial planning to production.
• Provide engineering assistance for field service and problems; perform field service work at customer job sites.
• Perform in process inspections on vehicle components and assemblies as required.
• Assist in the investigation and analysis of new materials and engineering processes.
• Create and organize complete bill of material for Purchasing Department.
• Edit and construct technical data for operation, maintenance and parts manuals.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawing using AutoCAD and directs the work of designers, drafters, and technicians as required.
• Participates in engineering projects and engineering meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Associate Electrical Engineering Degree and two years experience in the electrical engineering field.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years of successful electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be proficient in AutoCAD, WORD, EXCEL and have the ability to perform mechanical principles and mathematics. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action. Must handle novel and diverse work problems on a daily basis.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Must be able to operate computer and other office machines, and diagnostic and test equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time. Some bending and stooping required. Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other office equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports, blueprints, and computer terminals. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use. Occasional high stress work may require dealing with customers or working irregular hours. Must be able to drive a car.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a typical office setting 70% of the time, and works in the shop/outside 30% of the time. May be required to work some overtime. Occasional traveling required.
