PURPOSE
OF POSITION:
To
assist in the design/creation of products produced at Brookville Equipment
Corporation.
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
•
Draft/model sub-assemblies and parts developed by Level II & III Designers.
•
Develop CAD drawings from rough sketches.
•
Revise existing CAD drawings.
•
Issue drawings to shop and for sales proposals.
•
Convert hand drawn designs to CAD type.
•
Assist manufacturing in design and drafting related support.
•
Solve design problems that occur during manufacturing of a machine.
•
Other duties as may be assigned.
•
Review all drawings returned from manufacturing for potential revisions.
•
Segregate marked-up drawings for drafting/design review.
•
Tag electronic drawing file with appropriate notation to prevent re-release of
unrevised drawings to manufacturing.
JOB
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Must
have a minimum of formal training in Auto CAD; Associate degree in mechanical
drafting and design or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
On
the job drafting experience preferred. Experience in solid modeling beneficial.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of CAD
drafting, spreadsheets, and word processing. Must be mentally adaptable and
flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Must be able to analyze many
variables and choose the most effective course of action. Must handle novel and
diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must have a long attention span in
order to complete assignments.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
EQUIPMENT
TO BE USED: Must
be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator,
telephone, etc.
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS: Requires
prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand
coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard and mouse,
photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires
eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports, blueprints, and
computer terminals. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.
Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional high stress work may
require dealing with deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS: May
be required to work overtime/weekends. Works in typical office setting 90% of
the time, and shop area 10% of the time.
