Job Responsibilities:
WESCO currently has an exciting career opportunity for entry level Region Cost Side Analyst within our Purchasing and Inventory organization to be located at our Warrendale, PA distribution center.
The Region Cost Side Analyst is in a highly visible capacity providing support t our team of Purchasing Managers for the region.  The Region organization is one of eight key growth engines and continues to expand rapidly in customers and sales growth.  The candidate supports negotiation opportunity identification, cost target identification, database maintenance, development and integration, cost-side results calculation and scorecarding, and additional tasks as needed by the PM staff.  This role provides both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to significantly improve WESCO’s profitability.  This role is an excellent stepping stone into other key positions within WESCO and provides the opportunity to learn both the customer and supplier ends of our business.  As our company evolves, there will be a need for strong candidates interested in buying, procurement, purchasing, inventory management and other areas of the company
In this position, a Region Cost Side Analyst can expect to be responsible for the following:    

  • Support all identified region Purchasing Managers in day-to-day operations to ensure they can effectively establish pricing with key suppliers.
  • Utilize purchasing systems, programs, and resources to accurately establish cost points for key suppliers with certain customers.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for identified region PMs to negotiate using WESCO purchasing systems, MS Excel, MS Access and an online database.

  • Maintain a steady execution of requests and ensure that PMs are receiving proper information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the online database where all negotiation opportunities are housed.
  • Integrate continuous process improvements into online database, as recommended by the field and senior leadership, to facilitate the flow of information and ownership.
  • Calculate cost savings for negotiations upon completion.
  • Manage reporting scorecards for use by senior leadership to identify cost savings performance from each identified region PM.
  • Proactively be engaged with identified region PMs to resolve performance issues that may impact their ability to negotiate effectively.  
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • Systems expertise – extremely proficient in using PC based systems, programs and reports, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access.
