Job Summary:
Writes, maintains and documents moderate to complex programs using the languages, technology and tools as required by the MIS Department. Assists in maintaining programs and systems with guidance. Main business systems supported for this position are HR and Payroll, Accounting, Purchasing and Location Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Write and maintain programs according to detail specifications. 
  • Perform problem determination and resolution with guidance on business systems.
  • Perform work in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Gain working knowledge of all application development technologies appropriate for assigned projects.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with all personnel within the MIS organization.
  • Support programs written by self on call, work to gain knowledge in order to support other team maintained systems over time.  Analyst will eventually be part of a weekly 24/7 on call rotation with 5 other analysts. 
  • Opportunity to lead projects and communicate with user departments as analyst gains knowledge and experience.

Minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Programming, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of MS Sql Server database, table, query design, and stored procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of C#.net and is preferred
  • Knowledge of Cobol is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studios development environment is a plus
  • High level of experience with Microsoft Office including MS Project, MS Access, and MS Excel is a plus
  • Knowledge of SmartStream Accounting and Lawson HR and Payroll systems is a plus.
  • Creative problem solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate with all personnel within the corporation.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible in the tasks performed and be ready to lead the various aspects of a technology project
  • Knowledge of Alchemy tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of Team Foundation Server is a plus
