Over
100 Nuclear power plants provide 20% of the electricity in the US and
represent some of the most complex energy systems ever designed. All of
these plants carry products manufactured by AP Services. Our role is
to produce and install the fluid leak management materials which make
Nuclear Plants efficient and safe.
Fossil
power plants produce much of the remaining electricity generation from
several thousand locations around the US. AP Services provides critical
components to many of these plants which can range in size from a few
megawatts to well over 1,000.
From
our manufacturing location in Freeport, PA, we distribute and
manufacture a wide range of products – over 100,000 different seals,
gaskets and mechanical packing products are made – using diverse
materials such as metals, rubber, graphite, carbon, etc. which can
withstand the very high pressures and temperatures which are required in
the production of both nuclear and fossil energy.
Our
skilled technicians advise clients on leak management, support clients
in the installation of critical seals and train power plant operatives
in the use of our products.
We
are seeking to recruit young, enthusiastic, engineers who are willing
to learn about our products and our clients, and are interested to work
inside the power plants round the US which carry our products.
We
will provide training, relevant hands-on experience and the opportunity
to travel. Our training rotation will last between 9 and 18 months and
will include several weeks experience in each of the following areas:
- Manufacturing and material handling
- Inside technical customer support
- Onsite plant equipment surveys
- Field technical support
- Sales and customer services support
- IT and data support.
