The individual who fills this position will participate as an integral member of a dynamic engineering team that is both implementing solutions for our valued customers and developing new software products, features, and the core technical basis for future efficient and reliable implementations. As a Software Engineer II, this will be very personal as you will be engaged with and work very closely with our customers. Lucas relies on its engineering staff to develop and support a variety of technologies that allows Lucas to maintain a competitive edge.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops code of medium to high complexity
- Works with users to gather requirements and design specifications and often leads moderately complex projects
- Documents development and design work
- Performs as the Go-To person on internal and customer projects
- Provides input during design sessions
- Provides business support as needed
- Participates in production support
- Performs code revisions with programmers
- Follows the IT change management process
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and five years of software engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field and two years software engineering experience
- Commitment to producing high quality, well designed and flexible custom applications
- Very strong programming and troubleshooting ability with attention to detail and design
- Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills
- Dedication to a collaborative working style and the ability to work well in small teams
- Willingness to participate in after-hour and on-call support
- A desire to learn and use new technologies
- Candidate must have demonstrated success with implementing and supporting external projects where customer satisfaction is paramount
- The candidate must have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast paced / dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules
- .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0, C#, XML, TSQL, Web Services
- Ability to travel 15%
- Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or other supply chain software solutionsMicrosoft Systems Engineer Certification
- Experience in logistics
- Familiarity with systems that include mobile devices
- Experience with Silverlight
