Lucas Systems, Inc. is currently looking for a Software Engineer I to serve as a key part of our Application Development Team.  Lucas relies on its engineering staff to develop and support a variety of technologies that allows Lucas to maintain a competitive edge.  Technologies include software that runs on a variety of leading edge mobile devices from Motorola, Intermec, Apple, etc.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement software modules, components and subsystems for the Jennifer product
  • Design and develop code up to medium complexity
  • Works with users to gather requirements and design specifications
  • Document development and design work
  • Performs code revisions with programmers
  • Assist in creating system specifications, system installation and customer training as required
  • Support Lucas’s customer support team in troubleshooting and developing fixes/enhancements for existing client deployments.
  • Ability to travel 15%


Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (significant and relevant work experience coupled with a differing degree will be considered)
  • Commitment to producing high quality, well designed and flexible custom applications
  • Very strong programming and troubleshooting ability with attention to detail and design
  • Dedication to a collaborative working style and the ability to work well in small teams
  • A desire to learn and use new technologies
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0, C#, XML, TSQL, Webs Services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to be attentive to details
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or other supply chain software solutions
  • Microsoft Systems Engineer Certification
  • Experience in logistics
  • Familiarity with systems that include mobile devices
  • Experience with Silverlight
