Position Description:
The Internship Coordinator provides career counseling and placement assistance to students who are considering a variety of experiential education opportunities, including internships, volunteering, job shadowing, and off-campus research experiences.
The Coordinator also plans career-related programs, participates in outreach to all stakeholders, and assists in assessment efforts. Responsibilities will include the following: provide individual career assistance to students interested in gaining career-related experience, such as job shadowing, community service, internships, etc. related to their career plans; implement external relations initiatives that will result in the development of new internships, as well as sites for job shadowing, service learning, volunteerism, etc.; promote experiential education opportunities to students using a variety of methods including classroom presentations, one-on-one meetings, and an annual internship fair; develop and implement a tracking system for student participation in internships; assist with the collection of data regarding availability and quality of career exploration opportunities; create and implement, independently and collaboratively, career-related programs and workshops; participate in the development and implementation of First, Second, and Senior Year Experience Programs; participate in the development and implementation of the Quest summer career camps for high school students; assist with the collection and reporting of post-graduate statistics; assist with the development and updating of marketing materials and career development materials for the website and career library.
