LSAMP Summer Undergraduate Research at Rensselaer - Summer 2012

Rensselaer (RPI) in Troy, New York is soliciting applications from
underrepresented minority undergraduate students in the STEM fields who
are interested in conducting research with Rensselaer faculty for ten
weeks during the summer of 2012. This opportunity includes room and board
as well as a generous living allowance. Please distribute the attachment
and/or the announcement below to undergraduate students at Penn State who
are underrepresented minorities in the fields of Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Math.

The Office of Graduate Education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is
soliciting applications from underrepresented minority undergraduate
students* in the STEM fields who are interested in conducting research
with Rensselaer faculty for ten weeks during the summer of 2012. This
program is designed to help curious and solution-oriented students gain
confidence in the lab, develop enthusiasm for graduate school, cultivate a
professional network, and earn attractive qualifications. Participants
will participate in professional development activities and present their
research at a closing poster presentation. Rensselaer is located in
upstate New York, 150 miles from New York City.

Requirements
-Full-time, ten week commitment
-Tuesday May 29 through Friday Aug 3
-Participation in all program activities
Eligibility
-Applicant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident, with a minimum GPA
of 2.5, who will continue with his/her undergraduate study in fall 2012.
