Lucas Systems, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer II to:

  • design & develop software using MS Visual Studio and .Net framework;
  • implement MS recommended design patterns, such as smart client s/w factory & enterprise library;
  • develop specs and architecture diagrams;
  • serve as tech lead for customer projects, supervising other engineers to meet both internal and external expectations;
  • design and develop MS Windows services, IIS, and multi-threaded server and mobile client applications;
  • design and develop interfaces using various transfer methods (i.e. SOCKET, XML, FTP etc);
  • debug and tune applications using Visual Studio, Profiler, System Process Viewer, SoapUI;
  • coordinate and conduct user testing and training.
  • develop prototypes for R&D evaluation;
  •  evaluate new s/w tools.
Must hold Master’s degree in S/W Eng, Comp Sci, or related discipline or BS degree in same discipline, together with 5 years of previous software engineering experience.  Must have one year of previous experience in directly relevant position.  Must know (through academic training or work exp) C#.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, T-SQL, .Net Framework, SOAP/XML, as well as systems that include mobile devices.

 Ability to travel 15%.

Worldwide Express Intern Opportunities

This internship is ideal for any student looking to get into sales once they complete college. Our interns do not just shadow employees or do menial tasks, our interns are actually involved in our day-to-day operations. If you are looking for a professional internship that will teach you business skills and allow you to expand your work experience, this is the right opportunity for you!

As an intern at Worldwide Express, you'll gain valuable knowledge in the business world, specifically in the sales arena. In this position, you will be involved in brand marketing by prospecting business leads, various sales-related roles such as shadowing business client meetings, and developing customer relations by utilizing our CRM system. In addition, interns will be included in onboarding new clients by performing pricing analysis and  integrating our technology.

Internship Description:
Prospecting- Contacting potential customers about their shipping needs
• Shadowing- Interns will shadow the District Sales Manager or Account Executive on business meetings and new account activations
• Customer Relations- Utilizing our CRM system to provide customer service
• Pricing Analysis/Technology Integration- Interns will learn to price accounts using our internal technology

Training and Development
:
At Worldwide Express, we believe in teaching our interns through best-in-class training and development. Interns are provided both classroom training as well hands-on mentoring in the field.

Requirements:
• Desire to succeed in the Business/Sales world
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program; ideally in communications, business, marketing and / or management
• Comfortable in a fast paced, results oriented environment
• Exceptional written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Strong customer-facing, presentation and negotiation skills

Additional Info:
• This internship is either paid OR for college credits
                - If for college credit, it is the student's responsibility to work with college advisor on paperwork, hours, etc
                - If paid, intern will receive $500 upon completing 69 hours
                - Days/availability are negotiable but must be available at least 5 hrs/week during regular business hours
• Full-time employment may be offered at the end of the internship however, it is not guaranteed

•Reliable mode of transportation

Compensation:
•Base Salary - $28k (1st year A/E's can expect to make about $40-45K overall)
•Monthly Commission – residual structure & uncapped
