City Semester Pittsburgh
The Penn State Center Pittsburgh is excited to announce that our City Semester Pittsburgh program is now open to all Penn State students regardless of campus affiliation.
The City Semester program – which has hosted 66 students in 9 semesters – is a personalized and immersive learning experience in sustainability. Students have the opportunity to live and work in Pittsburgh for a semester – interning with a local community partner and taking a course on urban sustainability at the Penn State Center Pittsburgh. They explore real-world issues and work on projects related to climate action, social justice and equity, sustainable design, urban food systems, housing and transportation, clean energy policy, circular economies, and neighborhood planning.
Applications for Summer 2024 are now open. The deadline to apply is February 2, 2024.
