PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER - Springdale, PA

Key Responsibilities:
The Coatings Engineering Department provides project support, computerized process control, and integration engineering services.  Our engineers leverage their expertise and knowledge of computer process control systems and automation across multiple facilities. As a member of this department you will be working in a team environment on process control automation projects mainly for batch and semi-batch type operations. The PPG Coatings Engineering process control group has standardized on Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) systems.
Essential Job Duties:
Design, implement, test, and startup of computerized control strategies for applications in PPG resin and coatings manufacturing processes.
Develop high quality, well-tested and documented process control system software and hardware to meet customer’s specifications:
·        I/O definition
·        Batch system control strategies
·       PLC code
·       Human Machines Interface (HMI), Graphic Displays
Participate in Process Control System checkout and Factory Acceptance Tests, including field installation check-out and commissioning of the automated process control system.
The incumbent will be closely supervised but will be expected to set individual goals established to direct his/her professional and technical development.  The incumbent is expected to develop professionally through work experience by acquiring new skills as required.

Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline. Computerized Process Control concentration is desirable.

Functional and Technical Skills
Experience with programming PLC, SCADA, HMI, and batching systems.  Experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc/Intellution along with knowledge of RSLogix5000 (Control Logix Family of Processors), Proficy iFix (SCADA, HMI, IGS, iBatch) is a plus.
