Interns Needed for Local Manufacturers

Internship Opportunity

Kenson Plastics is interested in hiring a summer intern who is looking for an opportunity to do real meaningful work in a small but growing company.  The intern would be primarily focused on further implementing a custom MRP system with the focus on automating scheduling and creating more day by day and job by job visibility in terms of profitability and efficiency.

Background:

Kenson is a custom thermoformer located in Warrendale. (north of Pittsburgh)  As a premier designer and manufacturer of precision pressure-formed plastics since 1972, we specialize in engineered plastic components and enclosures primarily for the medical and electronic industries. Our cost-effective solutions combine pressure-forming, complex machining and unsurpassed finish work to meet the most exacting engineering and aesthetic requirements. Kenson was recently acquired in November 2008 and has been in a period of transition post transaction.  The new management of Kenson has focused on providing resources in the business that were not available in the prior ownership structure in order to unlock the true potential of the business and grow.  Some examples of the initiatives to date have included renovating the office, moving 70% of the machines on the production floor for workflow improvement, purchasing one state of the art thermoformer and one 6 axis cnc router, lighting the production floor and retrofitting a number of the existing machines.
