We are looking for a New Product Development summer intern for 2012
As part of our vision of an air curtain on every door, we have research and development to do. Your project is to aid us in the development of the next generation of air doors.
Proposed internship project goals, objectives, outcomes:
An internship with Berner can provide you an opportunity to integrate your academic knowledge with work experience while being exposed to different aspects of our company. We offer you the chance to help shape our company and what we produce. We give you a hands-on experience that will allow you to apply what you've learned in school to real-world projects. If something that you help to create is patentable, you will be recognized on the patent. The experience and skills gained will be a positive addition to your resume and portfolio. Though roles and responsibilities vary, you will work alongside experienced professionals as well as on your own.
Type of student sought:
- Mechanical Engineering student with at least 3 years of studies completed.
- Understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) with the mechanical aptitude to execute.
- Expected: Familiarity with 3D modeling software, thermodynamics and the ability to create a Bill of Materials.
- A plus: Familiarity with Solidworks or similar software as well as with computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software.
- A plus: Familiarity with industrial design
- A plus: Familiarity with electrical components
Individual must be comfortable with taking initiative, able to work within a team, yet also be comfortable with working independently. There will be guidance, support and interaction with the development team, but we do not like to handhold. The atmosphere at Berner is friendly, open and respectful.
