Internship project description: The intern will work within our QA department to assist in reducing process non-conformances, customer complaints and product returns through system execution, as well as direct involvement in continuous improvement project initiatives. This will include performing routine inspections, tests and evaluations of finished product and raw materials. Training will be provided to allow the intern to learn about our business and culture, as well as understand our quality management system and how the quality functions adds value to the organization.
Proposed internship project goals, objectives, outcomes:
Assigned work and projects will be completed under the direction of the
Plant QA Manager through interaction with plant employees and plant
management. The primary objectives are associated with the reduction of
process non-conformances, customer complaints and product returns,
however, this position will also provide support in preparing the plant
for SQF (Safe Quality Food) code compliance through involvement on the
HACCP/Food Safety team.
Type of student sought: Academic focus pertinent to manufacturing operations, engineering, business or related field of study. Willingness to work on the production floor in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams is essential. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or operations management is beneficial, but not necessary.
