I have several job descriptions for degreed graduates…Buyer, Customer Service Rep and Program Coordinator. (Customer Service Rep does not require a degree, but it is preferred.) We also would have an interest in graduates of the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology program. These grads could fit into Production and Maintenance Management training positions. We would also consider intern programs in that degree area.

Area Manager, Production - Position Summary
Supervise hourly employees in production departments (corrugator and/or converting) to ensure that a quality product is safely produced and delivered to the customer on time within set cost parameters.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Adjust workforce assignments on a daily basis to ensure product is manufactured and delivered as scheduled. Supervisory responsibilities may encompass all production and shipping/receiving operations.
2. Train new employees directly or through others to become proficient in their job assignments.
3. Ensure that safe work practices are followed at all times. Conduct accident investigations and establish preventative measures to avoid similar accidents in the future.
4. Conduct daily SQPC (Safety, Quality, Productivity and Communication) meetings with crew.
5. Assist in the orientation of new employees. Evaluate new employees during probationary period to determine whether to keep as regular fulltime employees.
6. Evaluate employee performance to qualify or disqualify them from bid positions.
7. Administer the union contract through the second step of the grievance procedure.
8. Ensure that all products meet the specifications of the customer before they are shipped.
9. Actively participate in Lean initiatives. Strive for continuous improvement.
10. Coordinate equipment repairs and scheduled maintenance with Maintenance Supervisor.
11. Discipline and reward employees as appropriate.
12. Assists Plant Superintendent in other aspects of production management as necessary.

Other Requirements (Education, experience, technical knowledge)
· BS/BA in Engineering or Management or a related field preferred. High school graduate or GED required
· Experience in corrugated container manufacturing, preferably in a union setting
· Up to date technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment either corrugator or 6-color press
· Ability to work different shifts
