Innovation Works Job Opening


The Investment Associate will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO).  The Investment Associate’s primary role will be to assist the CIO in managing the many transactions that occur  within  Innovation Work’s portfolio of companies on a day-to-day basis.  This individual will be responsible for helping to maintain the various investment and portfolio related databases and sources that IW builds and employs, assist in maintaining follow-on investor relationships, and  take on additional projects as required.  The Investment Associate will also assist IW’s in-house Legal Counsel with various legal tasks related to portfolio companies. The Investment Associate is a key employee within Innovation Works and the position requires the highest level of integrity, responsibility, and organizational skills. The Investment Associate will receive broad experience in managing venture capital transactions, due diligence and legal aspects of private equity investments. 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain IW’s portfolio company database of securities including debt, equity, warrants and other
  • Work with portfolio companies to ensure capitalization tables are continually up to date
  • Keep up to date the IW master portfolio spreadsheet of external follow-on investments
  • Assist Legal Counsel as needed
  • Prepare documents for, attend and record and disseminate accurate minutes for all Investment Committee meetings
  • Input quarterly investment data into data reporting services such as Moneytree and Dow Jones
  • Incorporate and maintain investor contact information in SalesForce
  • Assist CIO in maintaining regular contact with potential follow-on investors
  • Revamp and/or create high level VC “pitch book” similar to investment banker style deal books
  • Regularly check and update portfolio company listings on the IW website
  • Create and maintain a database of terms sheets
  • Create and disseminate annual reports on financing trends
  • Assist in managing issues around portfolio company collections and final reports
  • Attend various venture/angel fairs and other events
  • Help with new funding sources such as Heinz, Hygrid, CDFI, SSBCI, etc.
  • Support CIO in managing the investment funnel, prepping board materials, due diligence, etc.
  • Assist CIO in investor outreach as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum BS/BA, finance or scientific/technical degree preferred.
  • Preference for an individual with work experience and/or  familiarity in the venture capital and/or entrepreneurial areas

Job Summary:
This position would assist with all areas of marketing for the military business, including military promotions, marketing, sponsorships, advertising, samples, logo items and events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with creation of military advertising to ensure that the GNC military business is properly represented in the advertising arena.  Work with Marketing department to design ads to promote the military business.  Ensure that ads meet contract requirements and deadlines for submission are met. 
  • Assist with coordination of sponsorship programs for the GNC military business.  Work with other departments to effectively support these programs. 
  • Coordinate in-store promotions, truckload sales, grand openings and other local events/sponsorships supporting military marketing objectives. Work with Marketing and the field to provide athletes for appearances, create marketing materials to effectively support the events.
  • Assist with promotions to support and enhance the wholesale businesses.  Work with vendors to provide promotional support for their items. 
  • Order and maintain inventory of logo items and samples for use in retail and wholesale promotions.  Create packages for Troop Care Package fund requests and base events.
  • Work with public relations to ensure the press releases are distributed appropriately and in a timely fashion.
  •  Prepare promotional schedules for retail business to meet contract requirements for all military contracts.
  • Assist with maintaining web site, ensuring that it has the most up to date information.
Job Specifications:
Minimum
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or a related field. 
  • Must be able to work part time during the school year, full time in the summer.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
