Penn State summer intern opportunity - Provost strategic plan

We are hiring interns for strategic plan storytelling again this summer through the Provost’s office. We wanted to make sure you all could share this with students as you see fit. Students would apply via Workday through this page: https://hr.psu.edu/careers, and applications are due April 3rd. All students from any Penn State location are able to apply. The information they would need is: REQ_0000025596.

Penn State is seeking motivated students for paid summer internships to assist the University to tell stories related to our Strategic Plan (https://strategicplan.psu.edu/). Students with strong writing, video production, and multimedia skills are encouraged to apply.

Students in all majors at all campuses are eligible for the program. We are seeking talented students to help us tell the story of our amazing people and world-class programs across our nearly 60 budget units (including Commonwealth Campuses, Colleges, and Administrative Units). We are seeking special students – detailed-oriented self-starters who are able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects at once and work in a team environment. Selected students would work closely with full-time Penn State Faculty, Staff, and Administrators who work with units across Penn State. Students will meet as a group each week with the supervising faculty member to share progress and, where appropriate, to coordinate collaborative efforts to produce multiplatform stories. Students can participate via Zoom.

In addition to applying online, please include the following materials:

  • short statement of purpose in applying (100 words or less)
  • resume/CV
  • names/contact information for two references
  • non-fiction, short-form sample of writing, audio, video or photography produced from a “third-person” perspective
  • your location where you plan to be during the summer.

Please also include if you have the ability to work remotely with technology such as a computer (for remote meetings via Zoom) during the duration of this internship. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Participating students may, if allowed by their academic programs, apply for internship credit for this paid internship experience. Regardless if credit will be received, this internship will be paid at the rate of $13.00 per hour. This is a 10-week program for up to 32 hours per week, with a required initial training. For all Penn State jobs, please note that a background check will be required for employment.

Thank you!
