Nexternship for the Digital Playground - PSNK Admissions
Definition: Nexternship™ – a Nexternship™ is like an internship except it focuses more on learning about and helping to advance the application and integration of cutting-edge digital technologies that enable collaboration, learning experiences, communication, citizenship, innovation, and entrepreneurship. This in turn will enable the advancement of education, business, and manufacturing.
Wanted: Seeking a motivated, collaborative, and creative first-, second-, or third-year student from any majors to become a Nextern™ and aid in building augmented reality environments for education, business, and manufacturing. Learn to use cutting edge capture platforms and web architectures to bring digital assets into the real world!
Skills/Experiences Wanted
- Interest in and/or experience in coding, programming, CAD/3D modeling, rigging, and texturing,simulation,and other related digital programming and visualization tools.
- Willing and able to work in groups and independently.
- Willing and able to work at least 10 hours per week during school semesters.
- Willing and able to continue working over summer months (mid-May to mid-August)
- Background and/or skills in Minecraft and the programming kernel (Java) a plus. General video gaming skills a plus
- Interest in and/or experience with AR and related technologies(VR,360,etc.)
- Experience with and/or willingness to learn Microsoft suite of tools and others necessary for administration of responsibilities

- Open to applicants from all majors,but must be actively enrolled at Penn State New Kensington
