Fall Internship Opportunity - World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh

Calling all Intern Candidates!

The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is currently seeking creative, dedicated, and internationally
minded interns to help fulfill its mission of promoting a greater awareness and understanding of global issues throughout the region. Applications for the fall term are due by August 3, 2018.

The Council’s internship program provides undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent
graduates with hands-on, real-world experiences through projects that directly correspond to its public programming efforts, as well as its global education program in area schools.

Under the direction of a supervisor, interns are given tasks that introduce them to the depths of program management and fundraising, as well as nonprofit management. In this process, professional writing and communication skills are strengthened, and lasting professional experience is gained.

Past interns have helped to research and prepare for the Council’s programs in the community and schools; compile background materials for teachers and/or students attending a Council program; contribute to research and preparation for the Council’s weekly podcast the World Affairs Report, among others.

The Council’s internship program maintains a competitive application process, with opportunities
available in the spring, summer, and fall. A minimum of one year of undergraduate study is preferred.
This is an unpaid internship.

Interested applicants should submit the following documents to internships@worldpittsburgh.org by
August 3, 2018 to qualify for the fall internship term:
 Cover letter
 Updated resume
 Unofficial transcript (or list of coursework including grades)

All fall interns must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.
