2018 Summer Internship Program
Program Overview:
Funded by the PA Department of Labor & Industry, Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board will be coordinating internship opportunities for 18-24-year-old youth. Priority will be given to currently enrolled post-secondary students in Westmoreland and Fayette Counties. The program is at no cost to regional for profit and/or non-profit employers. The objective of the program is to assist employers to implement business improvements, while providing valuable business experience to young people seeking a career opportunity.
How it Works for Interns:
• 18-24-year-olds currently enrolled in post-secondary education are eligible to participate in the internship.
• Student must complete and submit an application and a resume to Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board.
• Internships will receive $10.15/hour for up to 40 hours/week, maximum eight weeks.
• Intern will be required to participate in orientation and workforce preparations training sessions.
• Internships will commence on a rolling basis from May 2018 to July 1, 2018.
