Network Administrator
Multiple positions, varying locations.
- Providing support, assistance, and managing service requests and incidents to ensure they are completed or escalated properly.
- Serving as the first escalation point for problems and incidents not resolved by the Service Desk or other Network Administrators.
- Actively monitoring service availability and is proactive to avoid service disruptions and reduce failures. Develops ideas for implementation to improve overall service availability.
Supports Business Initiatives by:
- Working closely with various IT areas to transition and streamline support tasks
- Working on projects, multiple tasks, and accurately reports the status of all assignments
- Developing ideas for implementation to improve overall service availability
Contributes Professionally by:
- Actively developing and maintaining procedures, processes, and troubleshooting documents
- Providing training to Network Administrators and Service Desk technicians
- Keeping abreast of new technologies
- Completing other duties as assigned
Job Specifications:
Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in
Computer Science, Related field or relevant work experience
Administration/Support of core Network
hardware and software Technologies:
- Switches, routers, firewalls, VPN concentrators, wireless access points and controllers
- Firmware patches
- Network monitoring tools
Administration/Support of Various Core
Services:
- LAN/WAN access
- Internet access - Secure URL filter (Websense)
- Site to Site VPNs
- IDS/IPS
- Vulnerability scanner
- System backup and recovery
