The Quality
Engineer ensures that products and processes conform to established quality
standards, production and operating policies, procedures, and work
instructions. He/she is responsible to
assure that all internal and external customer needs are being met and where
possible exceeded by continuous improvements to the quality system.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Quality Manager in the development,
implementation, and maintenance of the ISO 9001 quality system
- Performs formal audits of inspectors and
records and maintains results of these audits
- Performs process audits and records and maintains
the results of these audits
- Assists in performing internal quality audits
- Calibrates repairs and maintains all gages and
measuring equipment
- Maintains records of all calibration record
traceable to a recognized authority
- Purchases new measurement and test equipment
and puts it into service; Designs and requisitions gages to be used in
processing and inspection.
- Investigates and resolves quality and process
issues in Mix/Melt, Hot Metal, Cold Finishing and Inspection
- Evaluates anneal and temper of products and
notifies the Quality Manager, Hot Metal Manager, and Cold End Manager of
the findings, as necessary
- Organizes and participates on quality
improvement teams
- Performs and/or supports thermal shock tests
and maintains records of all tests
- Designs, constructs and repairs specialized
fixtures for processing and inspecting products
- Performs and reports mold evaluation for new
and "red-tag" molds
- Performs measurements using a CMM
- Interacts with
customers as necessary
Competencies:

In-depth
knowledge of Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance methodologies,
procedures, tools, and practices with demonstrated ability to apply that
knowledge across diverse projects and teams

Demonstrated
experience working with cross functional teams with a solid track record of
delivering quality products on schedule
Minimum Qualifications:
·
Experience:
2-3 years of Quality Engineering
·
Expertise
in Failure Mode Effects Analysis, or other such root cause analysis methodology
·
Demonstrated
excellent written and verbal communications, problem solving, interpersonal,
and time management skills
·
Demonstrated
experience working ISO 9001
·
Minimum
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s
Degree in Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering
