Mechanical Engineer/EMET Co-Op or Intern

The Mechanical Engineer Intern or Co-Op at Aerotech will assist in the design, testing, and analysis of precision mechanical equipment.
Essential Functions
·         Works closely with upper-level engineers to design precision electro-mechanical systems using solid modeling software
·         Performs testing on mechanical equipment using laser interferometers, capacitance probes, autocollimators, indicators, digital levels, accelerometers, and other metrology equipment
·         Troubleshoots production problems in manufacturing and assembly of components used in precision mechanical designs
·         Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
·         Performs detail drawing and drafting of fixtures, mechanical parts and assemblies, and other components used in Aerotech products for both customer and in-house usage
·         Confers with other engineers and technicians to clarify or resolve problems
·         Prepares or directs preparation of product and user documentation
Minimum Qualifications
·         Eligible students are those students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
·         Experience with at least one 3D solid modeling package is preferred
