Internship Program

 

The U.S. Marshals Service for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Office, is looking for   qualified juniors and seniors who have an interest in federal law enforcement.  This is an unpaid internship designed to provide a wide range of actual work experience to enable the student to become familiar with the performance of both administrative and Deputy U.S. Marshal Functions.  The interns will be assigned to the following divisions:

General Operations

Investigations

Seized Assets

Judicial Security

Detention Enforcement

Criminal Section

Management

Public Relations

 

Intern applicants must be in good academic standing and enrolled at an accredited college or university as a full time student in their junior or senior year with an overall GPA of 2.50. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen. To apply for the internship program the student must submit their resume. If selected for an interview, the applicant must pass a structured interview and a limited background investigation. All majors are encouraged to apply. However, preference will be given to those students who are majoring a criminal justice, psychology or political science. Any qualified student who can work a minimum of 16 to 24 hours a week may apply.  We are offering internships for up to 4 weeks, or up to approximately 160 hours.
The first step in becoming a United States Marshals Service Intern is to submit your resume by the    ending date of the application period. The resume must be postmarked by the ending date of the       application period and mailed to the United States Marshals Service,700 Grant Street, Suite 2360,   Pittsburgh, PA 15219, Attn: Intern Program Coordinator.  Selections for interviews will occur after the closing date of the application period.
