Entry-Leve​l Position at United Way of Westmorela​nd County


I wanted to let you know that we recently had a full-time position open up here at United Way for a campaign and marketing coordinator.  I am sharing the job description with you because this is an entry –level position for which I am likely to hire a recent graduate, or someone who is early career (2-4 years since graduation).  You may know of some candidates who might be interested. POSITION DESCRIPTION
 
 
Position Title:              Campaign & Marketing Coordinator
 
Reports to:                  Director of Corporate Development
                                                                                   
Purpose of Position:   Participate in the development and execution of the annual campaign, which includes communications and marketing responsibilities. Works with the campaign team to implement year round strategies. Assist with the implementation of year-round strategies to increase overall contributions and with the overall operation of the United Way office and its various functions.
 
Exemption Status:       Exempt
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:  Campaign, Marketing
 
Specific Duties: Campaign
  1. Responsible for a portfolio of UW company campaigns, including planning, implementing and supporting campaign growth within assigned companies.
  2. Responsible for research and development of new accounts.
  3. Utilizes account management software for updating account information and generation of reports and files to support account and donor relations.
  4. Supports strong relationships with key UWWC volunteers and audiences.
  5. Participate in various UWWC and community meetings and/or events as appropriate and necessary.
  6. Orient interns in operations and mission of UWWC.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
Specific Duties: Marketing
  1. Provide content for online marketing channels (i.e. website, Facebook, YouTube).
  2. Build audience for online marketing systems (i.e. website, Facebook, YouTube)
  3. Help coordinate and pilot promotions with companies and media channels. 
  4. Coordinate the newsletter, both print and online.
  5. Develop print materials for the Campaign.
  6. Support product development efforts.
Event Planning
1.      Planning United Way events
2.      Invitations to events, both written and online
3.      Developing programs and media
4.      Writing scripts
 
Volunteer Matching
1.      Maintain list of volunteer opportunities.
2.      Act as liason for individuals exploring volunteer opportunities
3.      Matching volunteers to opportunities
4.      Oversee United Way Day of Caring with over 700 volunteers and multiple projects.
 
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
 
External:          Volunteers, companies and individual donors involved in workplace or community campaigns; Partner agencies; Community partners; the community as a whole.
 
Internal:           All United Way staff, especially Director of Community Development.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
            Education:       Bachelor’s Degree required
 
            Experience:      Professional or volunteer experience in fundraising desired 
 
Skills:               Work performance that is consistent with organizational values.
Ability to relate to individuals and groups in a manner which will inspire respect and confidence.
Ability to communicate clearly and accurately verbally and in writing.
Presentation skills—ranging from individuals, small and large groups.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with volunteers.
Working knowledge of personal computers and standard software such as:  word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, Internet, and database management
 
            Other:              Strongly recommend possessing a valid driver’s license and vehicle
